Bargain Motorcycles

Known as the Thundercat, the Yamaha YZF 600R was manufactured by Yamaha between 1994 and 2007. The YZF 600R was a comparable motorcycle to the Yamaha R6, but had better handling and response for the every day type of ride, as opposed to the R6's focus on performance only.

The YZF 600R was heavier than the Yamaha R6, which was mostly due to the 600R having a steel frame, while the R6 had an aluminum frame. The YZF 600 R also cost substantially less than the R6 (around $1,000 less).

Almost by design, 600cc class sport bike motorcycles are less comfortable than their lesser sized engine brethren. However, the YZF 600R was one of the most comfortable sport bikes in its class, allowing for the owner to ride the motorcycle for far longer than other sport bikes. Kawasaki's ZX-6R was the only 600cc motorcycle of the 600R's time period that had the practicality and comfort of the Yamaha, but reviewers have all said that the Yamaha YZF-600R tops the list!
