Suzuki Intruder 1500
The Suzuki Intruder 1500 was built as a beefy motorcycle for a reason. While Suzuki makes a 1400 to fit most everyone, it's still a bit of a cramped cruiser, especially when carrying a passenger. With the Suzuki Intruder 1500, Suzuki wanted to make a much larger machine, but still carry the same classic lines and low feel that cruisers have, but add a wider stance to the motorcycle.
The first thing you notice about the Suzuki Intruder 1500 has you straddle the bike is the extremely wide fuel tank. To keep the 1500 low and like a chopper, there was very little space for a fuel tank of regular height. So, Suzuki opted to widen out the fuel tank.
The wider fuel tank on the Suzuki Intruder 1500 also requires the rest of the motorcycle to be widened, else it might look a little odd in design, and would also affect the center of gravity of the Intruder. Therefore, Suzuki also widened the saddle considerably and added wider side panels to even up the look of the Intruder 1500.
Because of the extra width, the Intruder 1500 is a good bit heavier than it's brother, the 1400. Weighing in at 699 pounds, it's a massive bike, but is still easy to manage. Reviewers and owners of the 1500 have stated that the weight and width of the motorcycle only come into play at parking lot speeds. Otherwise, the motorcycle is a joy to drive!
