Honda CBR600RR Review

As one of the best 600-class sportbikes on the market, Honda leads the way with the CBR600RR motorcycle! Honda, like most manufacturers, relies on their MotoGP race teams to help design sportbikes for those of us who want the same type of bike, but maybe a little better handling in our CBR600RR and just a little less power than their MotoGP brethren.

The Honda CBR600RR features a 599cc liquid-cooled four cylinder engine.  The engine is cooled with a ram air system within the nose of the bike to allow continuous air flow to the engine and to increase the performance in rpm's.

Ignition on the Honda CBR600RR is digitally controlled with three dimension mapping.  Iridium spark plugs help to increase combustion while a knock sensor optimizes the spark!

Transmission for the CBR600RR is a close ratio six speed which was designed on the track for the MotoGP teams, but further engineered for Honda's sportbikes to complement the high rev of the CBR600RR's powerband.

Suspension on the Honda CBR600RR is provided by an HMAS cartridge fork in the front, with 4.7" of travel in the fork.  The rear suspension is a Unit Pro-Link HMAS single with 5.1" of travel.  Braking is provided with a 310mm disc on the front with a single 220mm brake disc on the rear of the bike.  Tires are 17" radials with a 120/70ZR provided in front and a 180/55ZR in back.

Wheelbase for the CBR600RR is 53.9" and the sportbike weight 410 pounds with a full tank of fuel.  If you purchase a bike with the optional C-ABS braking system (2009-2010 models only), then weight increases to 432 pounds.  This is one of the lightest 600-class sport bikes on the market!  The fuel system carries 4.8 gallons with a 0.9 gallon reserve, so you can feel safe traveling anywhere you want without having to fill the tank endlessly.

As of 2010, the Honda CBR600RR is available in red or green metallic both with black trim pieces.  Metallic black is also available as also is the limited edition Phoenix paint scheme!

I rode CBR1000RR many times.I personally don’t owe this bike but one of friend has it.As every one knows Hondas build quality and reliability are excellent.Same is eith this bike..This bike is fast but more importantly it handles excellently and changes direction easily. A excellent bike that handles well on the open roads and is not bad in the city. The only negative side is the riding position which is quite uncomfortable for long rides….
