The latest version of the Ducati Monster 696 features the uniquely styled L-twin engine. This engine, named the Desmodue, puts out 80 horsepower, giving you plenty of power within its 696cc displacement. This horsepower results in almost 9,000 rpm at maximum output, rivaling the output of any other motorcycle at this engine size. Torque maxes out at 7,750 rpms with 5.6 pound-foot of torque.

Adding to the power of the Ducati Monster 696 are the dual exhaust pipes. With aluminum mufflers mounted up close to the top of the bike, the Ducati 696 is designed for high efficiencies, no matter the speed. The motorcycle just looks better with the mufflers placed up high, in our opinion, but they also serve the purpose of keeping with the other Ducati motorcycles in providing that unique Ducati sound.
