Ducati Motorcycles
Ducati as a motorcycle company has been active since around 1926, but really didn't make much progress into being a leading motorcycle manufacturer until well into the 1970's. In 1971, Ducati released the Ducati 750 GT, which featured a twin engine on the motorcycle, called thereafter the "L Twin" because of its distinctive way of putting together two 250cc engines to form the L-shape. Yeah, I realize that doesn't add up, but what was put together to form the L-twin did rate 750cc.
Ducati is now known as a superbike builder, and has won many podiums in the World Superbike Championships!
