Bimota Motorcycles for Sale

Bimota motorcycles are not well known at all here in the United States, but this can have advantages for you. If you want a different motorcycle than the ones your buddies have (ie the Kawasaki ZX6R), then a Bimota will absolutley be the head turner that you want to grab attention away from the same old boring sport bikes.

And even though Bimota motorcycles are not well known, you don't have to worry that you are purchasing a knock-off brand. Bimota is a sport bike customizer which takes high-end Ducati engines, then wraps their own unique frames, fairing kits, colors, and designs around the engines to produce a high-end bike with higher-end components than you find with the original bikes that the engines were built for.

Bimota Models - we're going through the latest models of motorcycles available in the US from Bimota. In a company that's been around since 1973, there are of course more models, most of which can be found in the products above. Bimota's not currently sold, but still very much in demand are the DB1 and http://bargainmotorcycles.org/?s=Bimota+DB4" rel="nofollow">DB4's, both of which can still be found in great condition.

The Bimota DB7 motorcycle is the highest end of the Bimota motorcycle spectrum. It uses carbon fiber in the frame to make the entire Bimota DB7 super light for extra quickness. And quick it will be, as it's currently built around the Testastretta Evoluzione engine utilized by the Ducati 1098 motorcycle. The current price tag on the DB7 in new condition is very close to $40,000.

The Bimota DB5 motorcycle is available in two model variations. The Bimota DB5S uses a tubular frame made from steel and alloys to create a fast and lightweight motorcycle while still allowing enough give to allow for a more comfortable ride. The Bimota DB5S is meant for two riders and is the Bimota of choice for those who want to ride long distances.

The Bimota DB5R is about 40 pounds lighter than the DB5S and is designed to be the racer of the two motorcycles. The DB5R features the same Ducati 1100 V-twin of the DB5S but with the reduced weight, is substantially quicker, and easier to handle.

The Bimota DB6R and DB6 Delirio are the naked versions of the DB5 motorcycles. The DB6R is absolutely the same as its fully clothed DB5R cousin with just a few changes to the frame (since you can see it). Same weight, though, so no more quickness in the naked DB6R than the Bimota DB5R. The DB6 Delirio motorcycle features a different fork (in the 50 mm Marzocchi) than the DB5S. The DB6 Delirio is also 27 pounds lighter, and has a higher seat height. So, you can't just purchase a DB5S and remove the fairings to have two motorcycles in one.

And the final Bimota motorcycle in the Bimota stable is almost unexplainable! The Bimota Tesi 3D motorcycle is what you want to buy when you want to have the only one in the entire surrounding area. The Bimota 3D motorcycle is engineered to use a swingarm front suspension; no fork. You will absolutely get looks when riding the Tesi 3D because no one will have seen a swingarm in use on the front of a motorcycle. Add the unique trellis frame to the look of the motorcycle, and the Bimota Tesi 3D motorcycle is one awesome motorcycle. Very few Tesi 3D motorcycles are available worldwide. It's around $4,000 cheaper in new state than the DB7, but limited quantities are available due to the unique styling.

Bimota Motorcycle Specs

Specs are generalized through all Bimota motorcycles we've discussed above. See each Bimota motorcycle for exact specs.
* Current Models: DB7, DB6R, DB6 Delirio, DB5S, DB5R, Tesi 3D
* Engines: Current models strictly use Ducati motorcycle engines, typically the 1100S V-twin
* Colors Available: Newer models typically use the Bimota red/white color scheme; naked motorcycles (like the DB6's) use the red/black color scheme
* Brakes: Almost exclusively Brembo
* Suspension: The Tesi uses a swing-arm suspension; others are fairly typical except in the rear swingarm attached to the engine on the DB7
